More than a decade after premiering a hit residency on the Strip, Boyz II Men are back with four shows at the Chelsea at the Cosmopolitan.
On Thursday, November 16th, an invitation only reception was hosted by Mario Basner’s World Heritage Collection and Balloons with a Twist, both Best of Las Vegas 2017 winners. Over 80 attended the celebration at Basner’s gallery at Tivoli Village in the West/Red Rock area of Las Vegas.
“It was an honor to celebrate with our fellow nominees and winners” said Basner, who also added that “Best of Las Vegas is a tremendous asset to (our) community.”
“We love to celebrate the best” said Michele Rothstein of Balloons with a Twist. The room was filled with festive balloons in all forms and fashions, which added to the already beautiful art gallery. Attendees took photos on a red carpet with a model wearing a unique showgirl costume made completely of balloons designed specifically for the occasion.
Invited guests were treated to food sampling from nine Tivoli Village restaurants: Echo & Rig, Waffle Bar, Brio Tuscan Grille, Canter’s Las Vegas, Cork & Thorn, Leone Café, PKWY Tavern, Hamptons LV and Leticia's Mexican Cocina. Direct Cellars provided wine sampling. Throughout the evening, guitar music was featured by soloist Elvis Lederer.
“There were over 1.3 million votes cast; an all-time record” said Bill Cummings, CEO of NERUS Strategies and Best of Programs. Cummings along with Neil Potter, Vice President of Operations at Nerus Strategies, worked closely with the Las Vegas Review-Journal, co-producing this year’s competition and magazine.
“This year we had over 2,000 companies competing for the top three positions in 274 categories. Over 600 companies won in 827 categories” concluded Cummings. Cummings and Potter were on hand at the celebration representing the Review-Journal.
